Invaders from Mars Wins Big at the 21st Annual Rondo Awards!

In the next few weeks and months we’ll be screening our award-winning restoration of William Cameron Menzies’ Invaders from Mars all over the US, so be sure you make it out to any of these events if you can. We have a five day run at the American Film Institute starting on May 12 and ending on the 17th, then in July we’ll be invading theaters in Baltimore and El Paso, so keep your eyes open for more details on that as we get closer. On the 21st of May Invaders is screening at the Forbidden Worlds Film Festival in Bristol, England, so any UK fans who can make it out to that screening should come by and check out this beautiful movie on the big screen.
And as for those awards, Ignite Films walked away with two Rondo Awards, the prestigious and fan-led science fiction and horror showcase, honoring the best in classic horror research, creativity and film preservation. Invaders from Mars won Best Blu-ray and Best Restoration in a crowded field, and we could not be more proud and pleased to share the glory with the best in the business. We extend a hearty congratulations to everyone who competed in those categories and who came out on top in others.
We have also been nominated for the Il Cinema Ritrovato – DVD Awards organized by Cineteca di Bologna for the Il Cinema Ritrovato film festival, during which our restoration screened last year. They give prizes for extraordinary home video releases for movies made at least 30 years before each year's festival and we are so proud to be nominated. Special shout out as always to Scott MacQueen, the restorationist who saved Invaders from Mars and made all this possible.
